Colorado Local Government Land Use Survey
The Office of Smart Growth (OSG), in cooperation with the Colorado Municipal League and Colorado Counties, Incorporated, conducted a survey in the fall of 2004 to provide a snapshot of the current planning practices of Colorado local governments. Similar surveys were conducted in 1983 and 1992, so efforts were made to keep the survey questions consistent from one survey to the next to aid in a longitudinal analysis.
We have included the summary reports of the surveys, accessible from the table below. We have also included the raw data. We hope this information will serve as a reference for those interested in learning about local land use approaches. Please do not hesitate to contact OSG staff (see below) with questions or comments.
Survey results:* population under 2,000

Survey results:* General information |
*These data have been converted to .pdf from Excel sheets. We have broken up the data into subsets, so you won't have to print out the entire results of the survey. Please contact OSG staff if you have any trouble opening files. Also, you'll find in the data the number one (1) represents an affirmative answer (yes) and the number zero (0) represents a negative answer (no).
