Table 2A. Colorado Municipal Population and Household Estimates shows how the county population estimates are distributed to each municipality based on housing units. In the method, the current c ounty population is distributed to each municipality on the basis of household population to total housing units ratio determined from the previous year. In Table 2B the municipal estimates are broken down into group quarter and household populations. Then, the household population is converted into an implied number of households or occupied housing units based on household size. These numbers enable us to calculate implied occupancy and vacancy rates which help in evaluating the reasonableness of the population estimates. Table 2C contains the historic estimates of population and housing units with related (or contributed) input data from different sources. Previous year estimates have been updated due to a revision in Census Bureau migration estimates. This profile sheet is helpful in evaluating the estimates and important for communications. Each county selection includes the county as a whole, a sheet for each incorporated place and a sheet for the unincorporated county. Table 3 is the estimate of population and households by special district. Estimates are listed first for the entire county and then for each special district.
