Division of Fire Safety: Resource Mobilization Program Manager
Range: $3895 - $5617/mo. - General Professional III
This position is the primary contact for the Emergency Resource Mobilization Program and the Resource Ordering and Status System (ROSS) for the State of Colorado. The Division of Fire Safety is the lead division for inventorying and mobilizing emergency resources.
The position manages all aspects of program development, implementation and maintenance, including system maintenance, training delivery, policy and procedure development, reporting and compliance, and some budget and fiscal issues. Additionally, the position:
REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Fire Science, Emergency Management or a related degree with at least two years emergency services experience
In addition to the requirements listed about, applicant must have the following: Outstanding oral, written, and interpersonal skills. Must be confident, self-motivated and able to work with little to no supervision. Knowledge and experience with emergency resource mobilization. Experience working with an emergency services organization. Multi-task capable and able to function in a high stress environment. Flexibility to travel on short notice and able to travel statewide and nationally. Ability to interpret and apply the federal and state laws and guidelines Trained in the National Incident Management System.
SUBSTITUTIONS: Applicant's work experience which provided the same kind, amount and level of knowledge acquired in the required education may be substituted for the education requirement on a year for year basis.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be willing to be fingerprinted, successfully pass a polygraph, and an extensive background investigation. If you have used any illegal drugs in the past three years, or have been convicted of a felony or domestic violence, you will be disqualified and will not be hired.
NOTE: If the position is entitled to overtime pay, the applicant must be willing to accept compensatory time in lieu of overtime pay.

FEMA Issues New Policy on Use of Digital Geospatial Flood Hazard Data
FEMA has issued a new policy enabling the use of digital flood data for official purposes. The policy is also structured to allow the continued use of paper maps by stakeholders who prefer not to change how they conduct business using FEMA flood maps. AS FEMA implements these enw digital products and policies, its goal is to reduce reliance on paper products. The new digital capabilities of the flood maps will: enable significant advantages in capability, precision and cost; reduce costs; and encourage use of quality local data to make NFIP administration more efficient and effective. Hazardous Materials Awareness Class

Baca County EOC
A hazardous materials awareness class will be held in Springfield, Colorado, August 16, 2008 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The class is open to everyone from first responders, school employees, road and bridge, and the public. If you would like to register, please email your completed registration to the Baca County Emergency Manager, Riley Frazee, or fax to: (719) 523-6776. Fifteen registrations must be received to hold the class so please register early.
The Hazardous Materials Awareness class is sponsored by the Colorado Division of Fire Safety. It is recommended that the class be taken yearly.

CERT Summer Games -SAVE the DATE!
September 13 - 14, 2007
It’s that time of year again! Get ready because the North Central Region and ReadyColorado are planning the 2008 CERT Summer Games. Register for this two-day event individually or as a team, and get ready to have some FUN. New this year, teen CERT members age 14 or older, who have completed the CERT Training are eligible to participate.
The games will be held at the Denver Police Academy. All Regions and States are welcome!!
