Twister Tweet - Colorado Emergency Alerts Go Digital
If you had not seen the Denver Post article "Colorado Emergency Alerts Go Digital" in Thursday's (June 11, 2009), Denver Post, I thought you might find it an interesting read. The article discuses the deployment of text alerts, Twitter feeds and other innovative communication methods and how they are being added to the toolkits of emergency services in Colorado, specifically as applied to the Groundhog Day-esque afternoon severe storm and tornado weather cycle we have going..
Too, if you have not yet checked out the CDEM Twitter Feed, take a look.
I would love to hear your feedback, comments and, if you are new to Twitter, give me a call at (303) 487-4087 or email me at brandon.williams@state.co.us and I would be happy to walk you through it. I even have a cheat sheet I would be happy to share and trust me, despite the awkward, smile-inducing terminology that tags along (there are some seriously smart marketing people out there, eh?), this is a legitimate tool to consider using...
