SUBJECT: High Priority - Park County Blizzard

  • Agencies Involved: CDOT, JEFFCO, Arapahoe Cty, El Paso Cty, Summit Cty, Clear Cr Cty, Baca Cty, Pueblo Cty, Red Cross, Salvation Army, DEM, Corrections
  • State Assistance Requested: CDOT and Dept of Corrections snow removal equip on site
  • Death/Major Injuries: None
  • Damages: Minor structural damage due to snow loading. Unestimated number of livestock lost
  • Current Status: Search and Rescue operations have significantly decreased and the emphasis is shifting more to livestock assistance. Over 100 miles of road were plowed yesterday with another 300 estimated to do although with prioritization yesterday main roads have been opened. Additional Mutual Aid resources have arrived and are moving snow. An operational planning meeting today will discuss CDOT demob tonight and tomorrow in anticipation of the next storm.
  • Future Threats: Snow and more wind are predicted for tonight and tomorrow.
