Event Type: Blizzard

Situation: Air operations for the feeding of the livestock continue as an immediate life safety issue. This may continue for the next 48 hours. However, feeding will be shifting towards then use of ground assets. Watering remains a concern. Several farms have wells, but do not have power for their pumps.

The Type II IMT should be in place in Lamar by the afternoon to assist with coordination.

FEMA Region VIII reports that based upon preliminary snow totals, there is sufficient numbers to trigger an "emergency funding" mechanism from FEMA to Colorado.

Southeast Region: Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 27. Wind chill values between -5 and 5. West southwest wind between 5 and 15 mph. Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 10. Wind chill values between -5 and 5. South southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west northwest. Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 37. Wind chill values between zero and 10. West southwest wind between 5 and 10 mph. Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 18. West southwest wind between 5 and 10 mph.

Friday: A 40 percent chance of snow showers, mainly after 11am. Partly cloudy, with a high near 28. North northwest wind around 15 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Friday Night: A 20 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 9. North northwest wind between 10 and 15 mph.

Requests for Assistance: Front end loaders (six cubic yard capacity) are now the number one priority, which will also require a secondary need. We have sufficient snow blowers and snow plows.

Also, looking for generators (various sizes) to be deployed to Kansas to assist them with their power outages. (Possible EMAC request)
