Event Type: Blizzard

Situation: Recovery operations in the southeast region continue to be the focus of statewide efforts. Life safety remains the number one priority. This includes protecting / rescuing personnel, transporting critical care patients, support shelters, open and maintain transportation systems, and protect livestock.

Colorado Department of Agriculture is working with the local Agriculture extension offices to coordinate the feeding of livestock.

CDOT continues to deploy additional assets to the southeast region. Many roads have been plowed but are open to residents ONLY.

Affiliated Foods out of Texas is sending six large truck loads of food to replenish outlets in the South & Southeast.

The state is still working on acquiring any number of federal declarations.

  • US 287 OPEN
  • SH 109 one lane open to emergency vehicles only
  • US 160 open to emergency vehicles only from Trinidad to Kim, and from Kim to Utieyville - closed from Utieyville to Kansas state line
  • SH 96 open from Pueblo to Eads/US 287,
  • SH 96 open to emergency vehicles only from Eads/US 287 to Sheridan Lake/US 385, Closed from Sheridan lake to Kansas state line
  • US 385 open to emergency vehicles only Granada to SH 96
  • US385 open to emergency vehicles only from Sheridan Lake to Region 1/I-70
  • SH 116 open to emergency vehicles only from US 287 to SH 89
  • SH 89 open to emergency vehicles only

Shelters Open: Thirteen shelters are open with a current occupancy of 534, with a capacity of approximately 1,055.

Southeast Region
Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 29. West southwest wind between 5 and 10 mph.
Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 6. Wind chill values between -10 and zero. West southwest wind between 5 and 10 mph. Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 36. Wind chill values between -5 and 5. West southwest wind around 5 mph. Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 12. West northwest wind around 5 mph.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 42. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm.
Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 18. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Friday: A slight chance of snow showers before 3pm, then a slight chance of rain showers between 3pm and 4pm, then a slight chance of snow showers after 4pm. Partly cloudy, with a high near 40. North northwest wind between 10 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. Friday Night: A 20 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 9. North northwest wind between 10 and 15 mph.

Requests for Assistance: Looking for any assistance regarding the availability of snow cats / snowmobiles, road clearing, and transport (low-boy) equipment that could be used to assist in search and rescue operations.
