A decision will be made later tonight regarding the closure of State offices. State employees should check www.colorado.gov/dpa .
Highway Closure: I-70 [from mile markers 228 (west of Idaho Springs)] to Eisenhower Tunnel has reopened, as well as Loveland Pass.
Highway 86 is closed from Castle Rock to Franktown.

Weather Report: A strong winter storm will impact northeast and north central Colorado with heavy snow tonight and possibly continuing well into the weekend. Another major winter storm will move very slowly eastward across Arizona and New Mexico tonight. This will bring heavy snow to the Front Range mountains, foothills and urban corridor tonight. The snow will also spread eastward across the plains, but will not be as heavy farther east. For Friday through the weekend, there are many more uncertainties regarding the eventual track of the storm system. However, it does appear that the storm will intensify as it moves very slowly eastward into the southern high plains. This would produce another round of heavy snow and stronger winds with blizzard conditions possibly developing over the eastern plains of Colorado Friday night into Sunday. At this time, the highest threat of significant additional snow accumulations over the weekend would be east of I-25. Since there is considerable uncertainty regarding this storm track over the weekend, a winter storm watch is in effect for the northeastern plains and Front Range for Friday through Sunday.
