Situation: Highway closures include: I-70 and E-470 (Denver) to Kansas border; I-25 (Castle Rock) to New Mexico Border except Walsenburg to Pueblo; I-76 from Denver to Nebraska border; from Eads, Colorado Hwy 96 and Hwy 287; Hwy 86 to Limon, most mountain passes, many other local highways.
The Colorado State Patrol is working with CDOT for the removal of abandoned vehicles from state and federal highways.
National Guard continues to work numerous tasks to assist stranded motorists, essential services, and local governments.
State of Colorado and most local jurisdictions are on snow days for non-essential employees. Commerce City has a public travel ban. All public travel continues to be discouraged. Denver International Airport does not anticipate resuming operations until Friday (Dec. 22) at noon.
