State Emergency Operations Continues Tornado Response
(DENVER) -Colorado’s State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) / Multi Agency Coordination Center (MACC), activated today to support local efforts in response to the tornado activity in Weld County.
Requests for assistance so far include:
- A Boulder County Task Force of 3 Type I fire engines, a 10-person heavy rescue team, and two Type I fire engines from Cheyenne, Wyoming for search and rescue activities, fire suppression, and emergency medical response
- Four K-9 search and rescue teams
- One Type III Incident Management Team from Jefferson County, Colorado to help coordinate arriving resources
- Five frontend loaders, 11 dump trucks, and 25 personnel from the Colorado Department of Transportation to assist with debris removal and clean up activities
- Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment has activated their Department Operations Center for support if needed
- Colorado State Patrol has 38 personnel and a mobile incident command post to help with traffic control & security
- Colorado National Guard has 36 guardsmen and women to assist the Weld County Sheriff’s Office with security
- Colorado Chapter of the International Code Council has seven Building Damage Assessment Inspectors on site
Preliminary Damage Assessment teams consisting of federal, state, and local resources are being organized to be sent to the areas affected tomorrow to begin assessments of damages.
